Since 2003, Thylacine Cycles has been creating and selling custom hand build bicycle frames in a manner completely alien to the custom framebuilding world, bypassing the haphazard leadtimes and decidedly un-modern communication techniques the industry is known for by utilising techniques used in other larger companies to deliver on-time, high quality parts.
By decentralising manufacture, outsourcing based on ability not price, and focussing the core of our business on design, engineering and customer service, we're able to achieve what few custom bicycle frame companies can do - deliver a custom designed, hand built bicycle frame from top shelf advanced materials, anywhere in the world in as little time as 8 weeks. Okay, so that all sounds like a keynote speech from some marketing executive, but what does it really mean to you, the guy scouting out for his next custom frame? Put simply, we're different - and it's not for the sake of being different - we're different because we're better. There are no limits with Thylacine Cycles - because we're based on a solid design background, we can design and deliver almost any sort of frame made of any currently available material. Not many custom bike frame companies can tout that - it's either brazed and not TIG, steel but not Ti, Carbon but not Aluminium - but with us, if you can dream it, we can make it. Customer service is also big with us. We know the industry is not highly regarded in a global sense for it's timely deliverables, and the only reason for that is lack of resources, lack of planning and just a lack of focus on the importance of the customer. While nothing is ever perfect of course, we strive to make sure you're well looked after - you'll never be sitting there for a week waiting for a simple email response. We're the most contactable custom bike company around. Put us to the test! Finally, a big selling point of our custom frames is the design process itself. For most builders, you'll get a dry CAD output or at worst, a snapshot of a pencil sketch which will essentially give you no usable info. With our Client Design Presentations [CDP], you get in your inbox, full colour, to scale, professional renderings of exactly what you'll pull out of the box 8 weeks later, with as few or as many dimensions as you need. We're the only custom bike company to go to this sort of length to help you visualise your dream bike. So that's it in a nutshell!
